Amazon dethroned the technological giants Google and Apple as the most valuable company in the world, according to the global ranking Brandz 2019, which was published today on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company founded by Jeff Bezos came in first place thanks to the fact that the brand value rose by 52% with respect to last year and reached US $ 315,505 million, leaving behind the reign of Google and Apple, which since 2014 were contesting the podium of the most valuable brand on the planet.

"Brands that show sustained growth over time reflect how efforts towards the construction of differentiation and significance for consumers pay off in a stronger equity and greater returns for shareholders," said Fernando Álvarez Kuri, Vice President Kantar in Mexico in a statement.

He added that "just look at the case of Amazon that has built a network of services focused on the consumer to offer a comprehensive proposal of services and products ad-hoc to their needs and that shows a growth of 52% in its brand value of one year to the next ".

Technology companies continue to lead the ranking since it began in 2006, when Microsoft was the undisputed king of measurement.

The world-renowned social network, Facebook, remained in sixth place this year, while the Chinese brand Alibaba surpassed Tencent and reached the seventh place in the list, becoming the most valuable Chinese company in the world.
The case of Huawei

The Chinese company Huawei, has been in the eye of the hurricane in recent months, after Donald Trump announced a series of restrictions and was included in a blacklist that prohibits US companies from doing business with the technology brand.

In mid-May, some companies like Google and Panasonic suspended the business with Huawei, in a new blow for the Asian technological giant.

However, all these measures did not make a dent in Huawei, as it climbed one step in the global ranking of most valuable brands and reached the 47th place.
