Father son family admits beating man dead: A father and his son, for whom the Prosecutor's Office asks for twelve and a half years in prison, acknowledged on Tuesday that they beat the father of the young man's ex-wife in November 2017 after a discussion in the middle of the street in Sabadell (Barcelona ), although they have alleged that they did not want to end their life.

At the Audiencia de Barcelona, ​​the trial with a popular jury against the two defendants, Felipe P. and his son Adrián P., which according to the Prosecutor's Office beat a man they knew because one of his daughters had had a relationship with the young man processed.

In his interrogation, both defendants have acknowledged the facts, although they have denied that their purpose was to end the life of man: "I was not going to imagine this happening. At no time did I intend to kill this man, "the son lamented.

"I was in my house and my exsuegros were knocking at the door," continued the young man, who called his father and the emergency number 112 when the victim and his partner tried to enter his home with "death threats, insults and hits".

The father has detailed that, when he arrived at the door of his house, located in Feliu Elias street in Sabadell, he exchanged several blows with the victim, although soon the fight moved towards a dirt track, a few meters from the farm, where the defendant gave him "three punches in the cheekbones", before someone removed him.

"Then, the man got up from the ground with the intention of heading back against my father," the son has justified himself, who kicked the victim's face, so he fell unconscious to the ground.

"Here the fight is over," the young man continued, "we do not continue attacking him" and added: "I did it out of fear, because my father is the only thing I have."

The Prosecutor's Office considers that "the intention of the accused is the key to this procedure" and ensures that both investigated acted "in agreement and with the common intention to end the life of the victim, or at least knowing the high probability of doing so with his action ».

In this sense, the public ministry accuses the father and son of a crime of homicide for which he asks for twelve and a half years in jail and a joint compensation of 330,000 euros to the family of the victim "for the economic and moral damages" caused.

For its part, the indictment accuses Felipe P. and Adrián P. of a crime of murder, for which he requests a penalty of 25 years in prison for each of them, while the defense argues that it is a crime of injuries.
